Our Virtual Trading Game says Markets closed higher Wednesday after a report on U.S. industrial production provided evidence of an economic recovery which supported Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke comments. The industrial activity rose for a second consecutive month, up 0.8 percent in August, from a revised 1 percent increase in July, and topping expectations of a 0.6 percent increase.
The Dow rose 108.30 points, or 1.12 percent, to 9,791.71. The S&P 500 gained 16.13 points, or 1.53 percent, to 1,068.76, while the Nasdaq increased 30.51 points, or 1.45 percent, to 2,133.15.
